Travel RN Job Details

• Position: Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (Travel RN)
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
• Setting: Adult Med-Surg / Step-Down Unit
• Assignment Length: 15 weeks
• Start Date: 11/9/2026
• End Date: 2/22/2027
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (1845-0715)
• Hours: 36 hours per week after the first week of orientation
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910-$2,010
• Location: Hilo, HI 96720

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent nursing experience required; 2+ years preferred
• Active Hawaii RN license required by the start of the assignment
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience with adult med-surg and step-down patient care strongly preferred
• Comfort working night shifts and adapting to floating assignments
• Experience using Meditech EMR is helpful
• Ability to work with common clinical equipment such as Pyxis, wound vacs, and chest tubes

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult medical-surgical and step-down patients
• Monitor patients closely and respond to changing clinical needs in a fast-paced acute care setting
• Administer medications, complete assessments, and support individualized care plans based on patient condition
• Float between medical and surgical units as needed, with occasional support to the cardiovascular unit
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary care team to support quality patient outcomes
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record
• Use clinical equipment and unit resources effectively to support safe patient care
• Maintain professionalism, flexibility, and a team-focused approach throughout the travel assignment
