Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit position at a Level 1 trauma center, requiring at least 2 years of acute care experience in a high-acuity, high-volume setting.

Details

• Staff a 28-bed Inpatient Observation Unit located near the ED
• Care for medical patients, trauma overflow, and mid-hold patients with lower to higher acuity levels
• Fast-paced environment with frequently changing patient acuity
• Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 4 shifts per week
• May be required to float to other areas of competency
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• PALS certification required
• TNCC certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a similar specialty within an acute care setting
• Experience in high-acuity, high-volume trauma hospitals required
• Proven success managing critical, fast-paced, large-scale trauma cases required

Additional Information

• Work within a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center handling complex and challenging cases
• Holiday coverage is expected
• Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
• Block scheduling is generally not approved
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travel positions
