Job Summary A Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is available at a tertiary care hospital. This role involves providing evidence-based care to adult and geriatric patients in a critical care step-down setting. The RN will deliver specialized patient care for those requiring continuous pulse oximetry and telemetry monitoring, airway management, and medication infusions.
Job Details
Certifications: BLS and NIHSS required; NY license in hand is mandatory; ACLS preferred.
Education/Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience as a registered nurse; 2 years preferred.
Responsibilities include interpreting dysrhythmias, managing ventilated patients, administering IV therapy, and ensuring compliance with isolation precautions.
Charting is to be performed using EPIC electronic medical record system.
Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
Candidate must be able to take a 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio and be willing to float as needed.
Must have recent experience with cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and specialized procedures such as Tracheostomy care and Wound Care.
Candidates should have prior experience in a medical-surgical, telemetry, or stepdown unit and be within a 75-mile radius of the facility.
All submissions must include NIHSS certification.
Return staff policy: six months.
Modules: Up to 5 billable hours on pre-start modules, with total module time not to exceed 10 hours, recorded via facility report.
