Job Summary Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position available in a tertiary care hospital in New York. The role involves providing specialized care to adult, acute care patients requiring more intensive monitoring and treatment than is typical on a general medical-surgical unit. The position requires expertise in telemetry, cardiac monitoring, respiratory management, and emergency response.
Job Details
Location: New York
Shift Schedule: Nights, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week
Certifications: BLS and NIHSS required
Education & Experience: NY license in hand required; minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role
Charting System: EPIC experience required
Patient Ratios: Nights 4 patients per nurse, with a 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio for medical-surgical care
Float: Float rotation may be required to ICU or medical-surgical units
Additional Responsibilities: Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, use of rapid response and code teams, peripheral line care, respiratory support including nasal cannula and oxygen therapy, isolation precautions, and management of complex medical devices and treatments.
Experience Requirements: Prior experience with telemetry, cardiac and respiratory management, and emergency response protocols.
