Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift PCU/Stepdown position at an academic medical center in Ohio, with progressive care experience preferred and first-time travelers welcome.

Details

• Mixed-acuity Stepdown/PCU unit in a large academic hospital setting
• Adult and geriatric patient population with general chronic medical conditions
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Floating within the hospital organization is required
• On-call responsibilities are required
• Charting via Epic EMR
• Medication administration via Pyxis, Accudose, or Omnicell
• SBAR communication framework used on the unit
• In-house provider support available 24/7

Requirements

• Active OH RN license or compact license valid in Ohio required
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
• Progressive care, Stepdown, or PCU experience preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• 2 professional references required: at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (e.g., Supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as the second reference; coworker references are not accepted

• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration and is limited to 7 days or fewer for the contract period
• Former employees of the facility are eligible to apply after a minimum 6-month separation from the organization
• Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be initiated promptly after accepting the position — candidates outside Ohio will need to travel to an in-state fingerprinting location or may receive a mailed fingerprinting packet to complete urgently
