Job Summary: Critical Care Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) position in Florence, Alabama. This role involves providing specialized patient care in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with adult and geriatric populations. The RN will be responsible for managing cardiac drips, chest tubes, and post-procedural recovery, ensuring quality care delivery in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Job Details:
Location: Florence, Alabama
Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); at least 1 year of experience in a critical care or Progressive Care Unit setting.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with critical care stepdown or Progressive Care Unit (PCU), TR bands, post-vascular, post-coronary artery bypass graft (CABG), cerebrovascular accident (CVA), respiratory failure, heart failure, chest pain, post-catheterization laboratory procedures.
Additional Information: The unit has 31 beds with patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5, utilizing Baxter intravenous pumps and occasionally epidural pumps. The electronic health record (EHR) system is Meditech. The role may require float to medical-surgical units but not likely. The position is a contractor replacement.
