Job Summary Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse in Louisville, Kentucky. This role involves providing high-quality care for patients with cardiac and medical diagnoses in a 30-bed unit. The nurse will be responsible for managing patient care, coordinating with support staff, and utilizing specialized equipment in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details
Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: Kentucky RN license, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification, 1 year of experience in a similar setting.
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: Chest pain, cardiac diagnoses, PCI, general medical conditions.
Patient Ratios: 1:5, occasionally 1:6.
Support within the Department: PCA/Certified Nursing Assistant, HUC, charge nurse, phlebotomist, Respiratory Therapist available 24/7, hospitalist available 24/7.
Technology/Equipment: Cerner Electronic Medical Record system, Plum 360 IV Pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing system, Phillips monitors.
Unit Specific Equipment: Not specified.
Floating: Floating to other mixed acuity units within scope of practice and scope of assignments.
Orientation: New employee orientation, including 1 shift on the floor.
Other Notes: Scrub color: Galaxy Blue. Free parking.
