Description

American Traveler is hiring a Progressive Care Unit RN for a step-down telemetry unit, requiring a KY or compact RN license and BLS/ACLS certification.

Details

• Step-down unit from ICU with 26 private-room beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 4-5:1
• All patients are on telemetry with heart monitors and may have critical drips
• Patient population ranges from GI bleed to COVID or respiratory distress cases
• 3x12 day shift schedule, 7a-7p
• Weekend and holiday rotation required

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact)
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• No prior experience required but previous nursing experience preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices

Additional Information

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and implement individualized plans of care
• Coordinate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching
• Delegate and oversee care tasks performed by other team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measures tracking
• Provide patient and family-centered education throughout treatment
