Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse in Spokane, Washington. This position involves providing specialized care for cardiovascular and post-operative patients within a high-acuity, acuity adaptable unit. The ideal candidate will possess strong cardiac experience and the ability to interpret rhythms, manage cardiac drips, and care for a diverse patient population.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting 09/21/2026
  • Required Qualifications: 2 years of strong cardiac or PCU experience; active licensure certifications including BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS; ability to care for cardiovascular patients, interpret rhythms, and manage epidurals and chest tubes
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cardiac drip management (nitro, heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, dopamine, dobutamine), high behavioral and personality fit, effective communication skills
  • Applications from first-time travelers accepted
  • Support within department: CNA (2-4 per shift), flexible float nurses, hospitalist, RT, cardiologist on-call, tele techs (2 per shift)
  • Technology/Equipment: EMR: EPIC; IV Pumps: Alaris; Med Dispensing: Pyxis; Philips monitors (portable and bedside)
  • Float: Traveler float to Med/Surg units and ICU overflow; first to float if needed
  • Orientation: 12-hour units orientation (NEO2)
  • Holiday Expectations: 2 of 3 holidays possible
  • Other notes: Scrub color is any solid, professional style; parking available at Town Park and surrounding lots
