Job Summary Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) Atlanta, GA. This high-acuity, cardiac-focused step-down unit requires an experienced RN to provide comprehensive patient care. The role involves interpreting cardiac rhythms, managing complex cardiac drips, and supporting patients with conditions such as heart failure, atrial fibrillation, and post-stent or valve replacement procedures.
Job Details
Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: RN license, minimum 18 months of recent cardiac unit experience, proficiency with cardiac drips (Insulin, Milrinone, Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Heparin, Lasix, Nitroglycerin), experience with telemetry interpretation, pass a dysrhythmia exam on the first attempt, Epic electronic health record experience
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with heart transplant patients, LVAD patients, chest tube management, and performance of cardiac procedures such as catheterizations and device placements
Additional Information: Unit ratios typically 1:4 to 1:5, high patient acuity with frequent admissions and discharges, no ventilator patients, provider must be comfortable with cardiac telemetry and procedures. Candidates should be able to pass a paper-based dysrhythmia exam independently using calipers.
