Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a high-acuity Progressive Care Unit position requiring MI licensure and at least one year of relevant experience.

Details

• Work in a high-acuity, fast-paced surgical step-down unit (2 East)
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 4:1, sometimes 3:1
• Patients may require chest tubes, arterial lines, PICC and other central lines, ostomies, trachs, NG tubes, wound vacs, and various drains
• Manage drips and IV infusions including Heparin, Insulin, Nitro, Amiodarone, and Cardizem
• Night shift schedule of 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM on an every-other-weekend basis
• 13-week assignment length
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
• ICU background is beneficial for this fast-paced step-down unit

Additional Information

• Provide high-acuity nursing care to surgical step-down patients requiring close monitoring and specialized device management
• Holiday coverage required for Thanksgiving and one additional winter holiday
• Local candidates accepted at standard rates
• Radius rule of 60 miles applies for eligibility
