Job Summary: The healthcare professional specializing in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing is sought for a facility located in Salem, Virginia. This role involves providing high-quality patient care on a 15-bed unit within a hospital setting, with a focus on cardiac and surgical patients. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, team-oriented, and committed to delivering excellent patient outcomes.
Job Details:
Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: Valid BLS and ACLS certifications; PCU experience; knowledge of cardiac rhythms and surgical patients; chest tube management; ability to work in an environment with high patient turnover; at least 1 year of relevant clinical experience
Preferred Qualifications: Strong teamwork skills; excellent time management; outgoing and patient-focused personality
Additional Information: This position may require floating to ICU for PCU patients, as well as coverage for med-surgical units taking five patients. The work environment uses Meditech electronic medical records, and attire consists of navy or white scrubs. Staffing includes rotating weekends and on-call shifts, every other weekend or four weekends per month.
