Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring 2 years of recent Critical Care/ICU or ED experience and open-heart Day 2/3 experience with pacer wires.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting within a hospital
• Patient ratios of 3:1 or 4:1
• 12-hour night shifts, 1900-0730, three shifts per week
• Required to float to ICU and all inpatient units including Med/Surg, Med/Tele, Acute/Tele, and ED with prior experience
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Current EMR is Epic

Requirements

• Active KS RN or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• 2 years of recent Critical Care/ICU or Emergency Department experience required
• Experience with BiPAP, chest tubes, PICC lines, and drawing own labs required
• Comfortable working without a vascular access team, calling own consults, and conducting own codes
• Open-heart Day 2 or Day 3 experience with pacer wires required
• Strong critical thinking skills required
• CBC, drug screen, and lab work must be completed within 72 hours of offer acceptance

• Provide critical care-level nursing support within a progressive care setting
• Must work one holiday from each of three groups: Thanksgiving Day or Black Friday, Christmas Eve or Day, and New Year's Eve or Day, with flexibility to work 2 of the 3 major holidays
• Orientation includes time at the KUKC campus and Olathe campus, including Director of Nursing training and virtual Epic training
• Facility is nicotine-free
• Local and travel candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Bi-weekly pay period
