Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) registered nurse position in Yakima, Washington. The role involves providing compassionate patient care for a diverse patient population, including cardiac, medical, and oncology patients. The position requires clinical expertise in cardiac care, post-procedure monitoring, and emergency response within a hospital setting.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS); at least 1 year of clinical experience in a healthcare setting; experience with trach care, chest tube management, post-cath Lab care, central line maintenance, and interpreting cardiac rhythms. Ability to care for patients on bipap and high flow oxygen; comfortable managing titratable drips including diltiazem, amiodarone, heparin, digoxin, Bumex, and Lasix; and experience caring for patients with cardiac, medical, and oncology diagnoses.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Epic.
- Float: Float rotation may be required during hospital coverage.
- Additional Information: This role involves working in a non-profit community hospital with 226 beds, serving a high volume of underserved populations and Spanish-speaking patients. The candidate will provide care for patients with conditions including COVID, PNA, sepsis, stroke, and cardiac events. Weekend rotations are required at least twice per month, and the night shift schedule covers a 12-hour shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
