Description

American Traveler is hiring a night shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) requiring 24 months of Telemetry/Cardiac experience and an active IA or compact RN license.

Details

• Cardiology 3N unit at a hospital, 24-bed capacity
• Patient types include rhythm disturbances, heart failure, MI, CCL recovery, and MS overflow
• Patient ratios: Days 1:3-5, Nights 1:5-6
• Uses cardiac drips including Nitro, Cardene, Heparin, Dilt, and Dopamine
• Tele tech unit monitoring in place
• Night shift, 3x12s, 36 hrs/week
• Every 3rd weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Float required across Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist campuses
• EPIC EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active IA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 24 months experience in Telemetry/Cardiac, Stepdown, or Progressive Care required
• Experience with ICD (implantable cardioverter-defibrillator) and Pacemaker patient populations required
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation experience required
• Cardiac drip/titration experience required
• Level II Trauma experience required; Level I Trauma experience preferred
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Skills checklist specific to Telemetry/Cardiac, Stepdown, or Progressive Care required
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Professional reference from a supervisor/manager within the last 24 months preferred

Additional Information

• Provide progressive/telemetry level nursing care to cardiac and step-down patients
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 Winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) unless the unit is closed
• Navy blue, solid-color scrubs required
• First-time travelers accepted with at least 12 months of Med/Tele, Cardiac/Tele, or PCU experience
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for the travel rate
• Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) may be restricted from travel assignments at other UPH markets
