Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) registered nurses (RNs) are needed for night shifts in a high-acuity acute care setting. This position involves caring for a neuro-focused patient population, including stroke, seizure, spinal injuries, and trauma cases, with a strong emphasis on vent and trach care. The role requires a minimum of two years of recent medical-surgical, progressive care, or intensive care experience, with proficiency in drip medication administration. Open to first-time travelers and those willing to learn vent management, the role offers an engaging environment for skilled RNs seeking to expand their expertise.

Job Details:

• Certifications Required: BLS (American Heart Association), NIHSS
• Education & Experience: At least 2 years of recent MS, PCU, or ICU experience; must have been in an acute care setting within the last year
• Location Requirements: Candidates must reside within 80 miles of the facility
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week, with every other weekend and holiday commitment; shifts scheduled 6 weeks in advance via self-scheduling
• Responsibilities include managing complex neuro and trauma patients, titrating and setting drips such as Heparin, Nitro, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Insulin, and others, as well as monitoring and reading telemetry strips
• Equipment used includes vents, trachs, Cpap, Bipap, Vapotherm, Etco2 monitors
• Floating: Flexibility required to rotate to sister Medical-Surgical units and various specialties including cardiac, general, orthopedics, hematology/oncology
• Orientation: 1 shift with a preceptor and an additional general orientation shift; candidates must note prior employment with the organization if applicable
• Credentialing: BSN not required; license to submit needed
• Start Date: 09/28/2026; End Date: 12/28/2026
