Description

American Traveler is hiring a night shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring 2 years acute PCU experience and a KY or compact RN license.

Details

• Advanced Surgical Med-Surg unit with 32 beds and a patient ratio of 5-6:1
• Cares for bariatric, GI, and colorectal surgical patients
• RN reads telemetry, no titration required
• Administers medications including TPN and pain management
• Utilizes skills such as PCA, feeding tubes, trach care, peritoneal dialysis, and wound vac management
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Night shift schedule from 18:45-07:15, 3 shifts per week
• Every other weekend required

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient PCU RN experience required
• Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
• Epic EMR experience required

• Responsible for patient assessment, care planning, and implementation of the plan of care
• Facilitates patient and family education throughout treatment and at discharge
• Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff and functions as a mentor/preceptor
