Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) in Wausau, WI. This role involves providing high-quality care in a fast-paced, high patient turnover environment within a 44-bed intermediate cardiac step-down unit. The position requires adaptability, resilience, and strong cardiac clinical skills to manage post-operative cardiac patients and those experiencing acute conditions.
Job Details
Shift: 12-hour days, 19:00-07:30
Schedule: 48 hours per week
Required Qualifications: WI RN License, BLS, ACLS, ability to pass EKG test in first week, at least one year of recent cardiac experience (including Cardiac Step Down, Intermediate Cardiac, or Cardiac ICU), and two years of IMC/PCU/Tele experience. Must have experience with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro Drips, and at least one completed travel assignment. Recent Epic charting experience of at least one year.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Additional Information: The unit features a fast-paced environment with patient ratios typically 1:4. Duties include managing patients post-op CABG, valve surgery, thoracotomy, vascular procedures, arrhythmias, CHF, post-procedure cath, pacer, defibrillator, ablations, acute chest pain/myocardial infarction, and overflow med/surg cases. Flexibility in float requirements and adherence to vaccination policies are expected.
