Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) - 12 Hour Days

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in an adult psychiatric unit. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with a diverse population of adults experiencing various mental health challenges.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with psychiatric diagnoses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and substance abuse issues.
• Monitor and manage patient safety, including conducting regular safety checks and rounds every 15 minutes.
• Assist in medication administration and support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment plans.
• Participate in therapeutic activities and interventions as part of the treatment approach.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a schedule of 12-hour shifts, including days from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM. Weekend and holiday commitments are required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Valid RN license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience is required. First-time travelers are welcome.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS are mandatory. CPI or PMCS certification is required before starting.
• BSN is preferred but not required.
