Job Summary: Psychiatric Unit Nurse Portland, OR. This position involves providing specialized psychiatric inpatient care in a short-term acute care setting. The role will require nurses to float between units based on clinical needs and to perform hands-on patient care within a dynamic mental health environment.
Job Details:
Schedule: Evening shifts, 8 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: 1 year of behavioral health inpatient acute care experience, current CPR certification, ability to complete required training prior to start, and comfort with seclusion, restraints, and milieu management. Valid license and current certifications are required.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EPIC charting system, familiarity with psychiatric disorders such as anxiety, bipolar disorder, depressive disorders, psychotic disorders, and trauma-stress related disorders.
Float: Float rotation to other units may be required based on staffing needs, with appropriate notice provided.
Additional Information: The assignment requires candidates to have reliable transportation. Must be able to work scheduled holidays and be flexible with unit assignments. Candidate responses to prior experience at similar facilities and float capability are requested during application submission.
