The successful candidate should be able to perform all of the job functions at a required pace and performance level. Conduct psychological screenings and assessments based on the review of available records and clinical interviews. Confer with other clinical staff to gather and provide information concerning patient psychological problems. Ensure treatment activities are well integrated and patient care follow-through occurs. Provide treatment by developing, implementing, and modifying individual treatment plans based on evaluation of needs. Make regular rounds in confined housing areas to assess mental health treatment needs. Demonstrate thorough knowledge of psychological counseling theory and techniques. Provide appropriate mental health assessments and counseling for inmates in crisis. Consult with various staff to gather understanding into the escalation of problem behaviors and changes in mental health conditions.
