Job Title: Licensed Psychologist Profession: Psychologist Specialty: Mental Health Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Full time Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum two years of clinical experience, including one year in a comparable position License: Current, unrestricted license to practice psychology in the state of practice Certifications: Valid driver's license Must-Have: Must be board eligible to qualify for privileges. US Citizenship required for clearance. Description: The Licensed Psychologist is responsible for professional mental health care for inmates/residents. The successful candidate should be able to perform all job functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with job requirements. Conduct psychological screenings and assessments based on the review of available records and clinical interviews with inmates. As part of a mental health team, confer with other clinical staff to gather and provide information concerning patient psychological problems. Ensure treatment activities are well integrated and patient care follow-through occurs. Provide treatment to inmates by developing, implementing, and modifying individual treatment plans based on evaluation of needs and level of functioning. Make regular rounds in confined housing areas to assess inmate adjustment and mental health treatment needs. Demonstrate thorough knowledge of psychological counseling theory and techniques through treatments and activities used for individuals in caseload. Provide appropriate mental health assessments, counseling, and intervention to address the needs of inmates in crisis. Consult with various staff to gather information and understanding the reasons for the escalation of problem behaviors and changes in mental health condition of inmates.
