What You'll Need:

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy from an accredited program

• AART Certification in Radiation Therapy

• Valid Radiation Therapy state license, if required

• 2 years' experience operating treatment machines and delivering patient treatments on a linear accelerator or similar treatment unit

• Experience in an outpatient oncology or comprehensive cancer center setting preferred

• Ability to follow treatment prescriptions, verify treatment software, and adhere to radiation protection principles

• Strong patient communication skills for education, preparation, and reassurance


Assignment Details

  • Facility type: Hospital (Comprehensive Cancer Center, outpatient only)
  • Shift name: Days
  • Shift details: Days 0700-1900 (shift split between start 0700 and end 1900)
  • Work days: Monday through Friday
  • On-call: No call required
  • Float requirement: May be required to float within the client system (if applicable)


Additional Duties:

• Administer daily prescribed doses for radiation therapy treatments using advanced linear accelerators or comparable devices.

• Position patients accurately according to prescription and ensure proper immobilization.

• Record and verify treatment parameters using treatment software and verify dosage with the oncology team.

• Follow radiation protection principles for patients, self, and staff and utilize appropriate safety equipment.

• Educate patients and families on treatment reactions and post-treatment care and provide physical assistance as needed.

• Maintain accurate treatment documentation and contribute to training of radiation therapy students.

• Demonstrate professional growth through continuing education and participation in departmental goals.
