What You'll Need:
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy from an accredited program
• AART Certification in Radiation Therapy
• Valid Radiation Therapy state license, if required
• 2 years' experience as a radiation therapist
Minimum Requirements:
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy from an accredited program.
• AART (ARRT) Certification in Radiation Therapy.
• Valid Radiation Therapy state license, if required by Virginia.
• Minimum 2 years' clinical experience as a Radiation Therapist, including patient setup, treatment delivery, and charting.
• Experience operating external beam radiation therapy equipment, including linear accelerators.
• Experience verifying treatment plans and collaborating with radiation oncologists and medical physics.
• Ability to perform accurate patient positioning and immobilization techniques.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification. (Preferred: ACLS if specified by client.)
• Ability to work in an acute hospital environment.
Preferred:
• Experience with image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) and CT simulation.
• Prior experience in a hospital-based oncology department.

Historic districts such as Shockoe Slip and Carytown provide dining and entertainment options within 5–10 minutes of central Richmond, supporting an urban lifestyle with walkable neighborhoods and transit connections. For weekend escapes, Shenandoah National Park is about 90 miles west, offering hiking along Skyline Drive and backcountry recreation. The city also serves as a regional transit hub with I-95 and I-64 access, supporting easy drives to nearby Richmond International Airport and surrounding Virginia destinations.
Additional Duties:
• Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment.
• Accurately position patients and ensure proper immobilization during treatment.
• Verify treatment plans and dosage with oncology team.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions during and after therapy.
• Document treatments and maintain accurate patient records.
