Job Description

Job Title: Clienttion Therapist Profession: Clienttion Oncology Specialty: Clienttion Therapist Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Days, Monday-Friday Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Experience: Minimum of 2 years preferred License: State license as a radiation therapist Certifications: ARRT license, CPR certified Must-Have: TrueBeam/ARIA experience preferred Description: Under general supervision, the Clienttion Therapist performs radiotherapy procedures as prescribed by a physician according to established standards and practices. The position requires providing patient care, treatment, and services within the scope of their license, certification, registration, and/or assessed competencies. The practice will be in accordance with laws and regulations and adhering to established policies, procedures, and practice guidelines. A minimum of an associate's degree in radiography with a certification in radiation therapy is required. A bachelor's degree in radiation therapy is preferred. Candidates must be graduates of a JRCERT approved school registered through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Clienttion Therapy. The position requires strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to problem-solve and facilitate resolutions to issues. The ability to handle multiple priorities and make independent decisions is essential. Responsibilities include: Delivering a prescribed and planned course of radiation therapy using radiation therapy equipment according to established practices and standards. Obtaining patient history, answering patient questions, and explaining procedures. Observing patients for any unusual reactions or events during treatment. Following established departmental and hospital policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and infection control standards. Scheduling patients for treatments and interfacing with physicists upon the initiation of treatment. Consulting with supportive care physicians, nurses, and social workers as needed. Checking prescriptions, diagnoses, charts, and patient identification to ensure accurate treatments. Preparing electronic and written documentation as required by the profession and the department. Preparing the treatment room and equipment for patient treatment. Transferring immobilized patients from stretchers to treatment couches with special care to life-support equipment. Positioning patients in prescribed anatomical positions for treatment. Reinforcing recommendations given to patients by healthcare providers regarding reactions to treatment and care of irradiated areas. Performing verification and port film exposures for treated areas and making corrections as directed by the physician. Enhancing professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops. Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. The physical capacity demand includes exerting up to 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible up to 10 pounds of force often. Candidates must demonstrate psychological and analytical abilities, memory, problem-solving skills, and creativity. The position requires communication and collaboration with co-workers, physicians, and patients while prioritizing and managing time effectively. Environmental considerations pose no special requirements, and no specific protective equipment needs are identified. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning and comply with all policies and procedures.
