Radiation Therapist opportunity available in San Jose, California. This skilled, state-licensed radiation therapy technologist position involves delivering treatment to patients as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist or Radiologist. The role includes preparing patient immobilization, treatment, and protection devices, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring safety protocols are followed to provide high-quality patient care.
Job Details:
- Position: Radiation Therapist
- Location: San Jose, California
- Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: License/Certification requirement met by Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, ARRT- Registered Technologist-Radiation Therapy (ARRT-RTT) certification, and CRT-T certification; no minimum years of experience required
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in radiation therapy and proficiency in treatment planning and patient positioning are desirable
- Additional Information:
- Delivers treatment and performs patient simulations based on written prescriptions and treatment plans
- Explains procedures to patients and their families, responding to questions and concerns
- Maintains safety standards in patient care and treatment delivery, including equipment calibration and safety checks
- Documents treatment details accurately and reviews billing and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Collaborates closely with radiation oncology coders for billing and coding procedures
- Maintains a compassionate environment supportive of patients, visitors, and staff
- Performs routine safety checks, equipment calibration, and setup procedures
- Assists in department projects related to safety, training, and quality improvement
