Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position requiring circulator experience, conscious sedation skills, and a compact or LA RN license.
Details
- Work in the Radiology department performing interventional radiology procedures
- Average daily census of 5-6 patients per room with a 1:6 staffing ratio
- Day shift schedule of 5 on, 2 off (0600-1830), rotating with call
- Overnight call rotation required with every other weekend coverage
- Floating required within the unit
- Epic EMR experience required
- Will collaborate with IR attendings, IR Fellows, and Radiology Residents (resident in house 24/7)
Requirements
- Active RN license (Compact or LA) required in hand upon submittal
- Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
- Preferred certifications: CPI, NIHSS, and PALS
- Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty required
- Required skills: circulator experience, conscious sedation, and telemetry
- Preferred skills: Level 1 trauma experience, scrub experience, neuro IR experience, and ICU/ED/Tele Step Down experience
- Preferred experience with infants and pediatrics
- Preferred experience with neurological studies and procedures including carotid angiography, cerebral angiography, discogram, and neurologic thrombolysis
- Must be able to work independently and handle workload immediately upon starting
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Updated NURSYS report required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care in an interventional radiology setting supporting a range of neurological and vascular procedures
- May be required to join an emergency response team during facility emergency events, with expectations to remain onsite or serve as part of a relief team
- Must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's)
- Orientation held 5 days a week
- Two manager or supervisor references required prior to starting contract (charge RN references not accepted)
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Candidates must live more than 65 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates are not accepted
- Previous Ochsner Health permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must have a 1 full year separation before returning as a traveler
- All requested time off must be disclosed on profile and discussed during interview
