Description:
The Registered Radiologic Technologist utilizes imaging, computer, and other equipment to produce and retain high-quality diagnostic images.
These images must meet or exceed department, organizational, and industry standards.
Demonstrates thorough knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, as well as image quality.
Applies professional knowledge to prepare patients for the procedure.
Educates and responds to questions or concerns from patients.
Ensures an age-appropriate approach to communication and safety needs.
Provides patient education while considering principles of physical and functional growth and development.
Demonstrates an understanding of patient positioning, imaging techniques, radiation safety, and imaging equipment.
Follows infection control and quality control techniques.
Oversees and trains students in providing patient care, treatment, and services as part of their training.
Applies radiation safety techniques and devices to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
Assesses and prepares patients for procedures while maintaining a focus on patient education.
