Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations according to physician orders and departmental protocols
  • Prepare, position, and educate patients while ensuring comfort and safety during imaging procedures
  • Operate digital X-ray equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images
  • Verify image quality before submitting studies for radiologist interpretation
  • Follow radiation safety guidelines and ALARA principles to minimize patient exposure
  • Administer contrast media when required and within scope of practice
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Perform routine equipment quality assurance checks and report maintenance issues promptly
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and imaging department standards
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide timely diagnostic services
  • Provide excellent patient care while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • Active Michigan Radiologic Technologist License (if required)
  • Current ARRT (R) Certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Radiology Technologist experience
  • Current BLS Certification required
  • Experience with digital radiography and portable X-ray equipment preferred
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, patient positioning, radiation protection, and imaging protocols
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills
  • Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems preferred
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospital environment
  • Commitment to delivering accurate diagnostic imaging and exceptional patient care
