Job Title: Radiology Technologist Profession: Radiology Tech Specialty: Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday-Friday Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital preferred License: State Licensure required Certifications: Radiography (R) by ARRT required Must-Have: BLS certification from AHA required Description: The Radiology Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures. They will provide support for other imaging technologists as needed. The technologist will help facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow. Flexibility is expected in working other shifts and locations as required. The technologist must be able to troubleshoot basic maintenance. Participation in quality assurance and resolution of issues related to image processing and archiving systems is essential. Expectations include ongoing education and staying updated on safety and technical advances within their scope of licensure. The technologist will adhere to and maintain expected imaging competencies as outlined by management. Behavior and communication skills must align with the organization’s mission, values, and culture. Responsibilities: The technologist will demonstrate adherence to the applicable competencies. They will maintain consistency with administrative and departmental policies regarding behavior, dress, attitude, attendance, confidentiality, professionalism, and reliability. The technologist will promote staff growth, development, and employee engagement by collaborating with management, coworkers, and physicians to create an optimal work environment. They will provide exceptional physician satisfaction through meaningful assistance to radiologists and referring physicians. All duties must be performed in a manner that protects patient confidentiality. The technologist will adapt assessment and care methods to accommodate unique patient needs. Compliance with all policies, procedures, and standards of care is required. They will perform necessary examinations and procedures to assist in patient throughput. Flexibility in working other shifts and locations is required. The technologist ensures that completed exams are scanned and stored correctly in the PACS system. They must follow PACS downtime procedures and escalate any issues as needed. Troubleshooting and reporting any equipment malfunctions to management or biomedical personnel is essential. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
