Job Title: OR Radiology Technologist Profession: Radiology Tech Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evenings Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year, Preferred 2 years License: New Jersey State License Certifications: BLS, ARRT Description: The OR Radiology Technician performs a variety of radiographic duties in an operative setting. Appropriately prepares and administers contrast media agents. Reports any adverse reactions to the RN or supervisor and assists with first aid as necessary. Thoroughly explains all procedures to patients, alleviating fears and addressing concerns in a timely manner. Safely and efficiently utilizes equipment consistent with patient needs and departmental routine. Obtains optimum radiographs with minimal exposure and ensures proper radiation protection for patients and surrounding staff. Marks films with lead ID markers and initials all films and requests. Performs technical procedures competently, meeting the expectations of the Radiologist and Surgeons. Verifies names and properly identifies patients prior to procedures being performed. Understands and accurately implements physicians' prescriptions/orders. Performs studies competently to obtain approval from radiologists and/or surgeons. Carries out other duties and projects as assigned. Adheres to organizational competencies and standards of behavior. Education required includes graduation from an accredited School of Radiology. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and Google Suite are necessary. Preferred experience includes a minimum of two years as a practicing OR X-Ray technologist in a high-volume trauma setting. Proficiency in the use of C-Arm and O-Arm is preferred.
