Responsibilities
- Perform CT imaging procedures in accordance with clinical protocols, ensuring patient safety, proper positioning, and image quality; adjust technical parameters to optimize results while minimizing radiation exposure.
- Administer contrast as indicated, monitor patient response, and manage any adverse reactions in coordination with the radiology team.
- Accurately document procedures and findings in the EMR (EPIC or equivalent), verify orders, and communicate results to the radiologist per department standards.
- Collaborate with radiology staff to support timely imaging, including trauma cases; be capable of scanning trauma patients independently as needed.
- Maintain safety and infection control practices, calibrate and troubleshoot CT equipment as required, and ensure exam rooms are prepared and clean for each patient.
- Demonstrate proficiency with peripheral IV starts (PIVs) and be prepared to initiate IV access per protocol when clinically needed.
Requirements
- Active ARRT CT certification; ARRT CT verification and BLS certification required
- EPIC experience within the last 2 years is required
- Ability to work a weekend-heavy schedule (every Friday–Sunday on 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. shifts)
- Phillips imaging experience preferred; trauma imaging and independent trauma scanning experience highly valued
- Must be able to start PIVs; capable of independent IV access
- Prior experience in a teaching facility or similar environment is preferred
- Reliable transportation is required due to limited public transit in the area; vehicles should have all-season or snow tires in winter months
