Responsibilities
- Operate x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated portions of the body as ordered by physicians.
- Position and instruct patients prior to examination to ensure proper alignment and comfort.
- Adjust x-ray equipment and determine proper voltage (kVp), current (mA), and exposure time for each radiograph.
- Verify orders and maintain image quality while adhering to safety protocols and department standards.
- Document procedures, maintain equipment readiness, and assist with basic quality control as needed.
Requirements
- Ability to operate radiographic equipment and perform standard X-ray procedures.
- Capacity to position patients and provide clear pre-exam instructions.
- Knowledge of selecting and adjusting exposure parameters (kVp, mA, exposure time) and related equipment settings.
- Comfortable working in a hospital setting with varied shifts on a travel assignment.
- Strong communication skills and commitment to patient safety.
