Responsibilities
- Perform, assist with, and complete interventional radiology procedures and cardiovascular studies, including angiographic and catheter-based exams.
- Operate and manage interventional imaging equipment; adjust exposure factors and filming sequences to produce diagnostic quality images.
- Position, prepare, and immobilize patients for examinations; assist physicians with specialized cardiovascular procedures.
- Initiate and monitor contrast injections under physician direction; activate fluoroscopy and cinefluorography as required.
- Maintain patient safety and quality control standards; uphold radiation safety practices and infection control protocols.
- Provide clinical support and mentorship for staff when appropriate; participate in team discussions and contribute to procedural planning.
Requirements
- Licenses/Certifications: Radiologic Technologist (RT) license in the state of practice required; American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification preferred.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR from an approved vendor required; Fluoroscopy (FLUORO) certification required; HLFS (Hospital Fire and Life Safety) required; TEAM, TEAM-A, or CPI required.
- Experience: At least two years of recent experience in the field; current nursing license per the state of assignment; experience as Special Procedures Technologist preferred.
- Education: Associate degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience required; Bachelor’s degree in radiologic technology or equivalent preferred.
- Skills: Ability to operate diagnostic imaging equipment for cardiac and vascular procedures; strong critical thinking, patient positioning, and procedural support skills; ability to work in a home healthcare - hospice environment and handle after-hours calls.
- Other: Willingness to work a night shift schedule and participate in after-hours call as outlined; ability to travel for temporary assignments.
