Responsibilities
- Produce MRI diagnostic images by operating magnetic resonance equipment in accordance with established protocols and physician orders.
- Calibrate, operate and troubleshoot MRI equipment; ensure image quality and accuracy to support diagnoses.
- Process, archive and present images, findings, calculations and measurements to physicians as part of diagnostic reporting.
- Prepare, administer and monitor contrast media as applicable; adhere to safety and patient monitoring protocols.
- Obtain pertinent patient information, provide preparation instructions to patient care areas, and coordinate care with radiology and ancillary staff.
- Maintain compliance with local, state and federal regulations, standards and protocols; ensure patient safety and quality control throughout procedures.
- Perform additional job-related duties as assigned to support imaging services.
Requirements
- Licenses and Certifications: Active state Radiologic Technologist license (RT) or RT MRI; ARRT-R or ARRT-MR or ARMRIT certification required.
- Education: Certificate or diploma from MRI program or an Associate’s degree in Radiology required; Bachelor’s degree in radiologic technology or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: At least two years of recent MRI field experience.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Additional: Must be able to work in a travel assignment environment and be capable of night-shift scheduling; current ARRT credentials in radiology or MRI preferred.
