Responsibilities
- Perform MRI examinations across brain, spine (cervical, thoracic, lumbar), abdomen, pelvis, breast, orbits, and other cross-sectional studies using Siemens Espree 1.5T
- Administer and manage contrast material; initiate peripheral IV access as needed; monitor patient safety and comfort during scans
- Position patients and coils correctly; optimize protocol settings and image quality; implement isolation precautions and PPE as required
- Recognize and respond to patient concerns; coordinate with radiology staff and interpreting services to ensure timely, accurate imaging
- Document procedures and results in the EMR (EPIC); follow department workflow and radiation safety protocols
- May float to related MRI or radiology areas as needed to meet patient volume and staffing requirements
Requirements
- NY state license in hand to submit
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years MRI experience; posting notes may consider experienced first-time travelers with substantial MRI background
- EPIC charting experience required or strongly preferred
- Siemens Espree 1.5T MRI knowledge; capable of handling advanced studies (diffusion, gradient-echo, MIP/MPR, MRCP, contrast studies) and surface coils
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume MRI environment; patient age range includes pediatrics through geriatrics
- Pre-start onboarding modules required (up to 5 hours billable; total module time may reach 10 hours; time beyond 5 hours non-billable)
- Facility requires floating within radiology as needed
- Distance rule: candidates within approximately 75 miles of the facility are not accepted for this role
- Start date confirmation may be required with account manager prior to submission
