Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Travel Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging procedures using X-ray equipment while providing safe, professional, and compassionate patient care. The Rad Tech will work closely with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
Responsibilities
Perform diagnostic X-ray examinations according to physician orders and facility protocols.
Verify patient identity, medical history, exam orders, and appropriate imaging procedures.
Position patients correctly to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
Operate radiographic equipment safely and effectively.
Use proper radiation protection techniques and follow ALARA principles.
Explain procedures to patients and provide appropriate instructions.
Evaluate images for quality and repeat studies when necessary.
Perform portable/mobile X-ray exams as required.
Assist with imaging of emergency, trauma, inpatient, and outpatient patients.
Maintain accurate patient and procedure documentation.
Follow infection-control and patient-safety procedures.
Perform routine equipment checks and report equipment issues.
Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team.
Common Imaging Procedures
Depending on the facility, Travel Rad Techs may perform:
Routine X-rays
Portable/mobile radiography
Emergency and trauma imaging
Orthopedic imaging
Chest and abdominal X-rays
Fluoroscopy assistance
Operating room/C-arm procedures
Pediatric radiography
Inpatient and outpatient imaging
Requirements
Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Current ARRT(R) certification or equivalent credential.
Active state radiologic technologist license/registration when required.
Current BLS certification may be required.
Recent clinical experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
Strong knowledge of radiation safety and positioning techniques.
Ability to operate and troubleshoot radiographic equipment.
Strong patient-care and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Trexoros Health Job ID #771. Pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
