Job Summary:
The Registered Radiology Technologist performs medical imaging examinations under the direction of a physician. This role involves ensuring proper patient identification, order verification, and preparation for exams. The technologist is sensitive to patient needs, explains procedures to alleviate anxiety, and addresses concerns. Responsibilities include performing radiologic exams that produce quality images, ensuring safety, utilizing sterile techniques, responding to emergent situations, completing documentation, coordinating patient care, maintaining a clean environment, pursuing education opportunities, and assisting students and other technologists.
Required Qualifications:
- ARRT registration
- Current Rad Tech license in state of practice (if working in Utah)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare providers
Preferred Qualifications:
- IV certification
Additional Information:
- A personal radiation monitoring badge (dosimeter) is required for this assignment
- Providers are encouraged to use an existing badge from a previous employer or assignment when available
- If a new badge is issued, prior exposure history will not be reflected
