Responsibilities
- Provide unit-based leadership, supervising nursing and ancillary personnel under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director
- Collaborate with physicians and the health care team to develop, implement, and revise individualized care plans
- Direct and monitor nursing activities to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality patient care; participate in patient care as needed
- Conduct rounds to assess patient needs, introduce yourself to patients and families, and address questions and concerns
- Foster patient- and family-centered care with attention to cultural diversity; solicit feedback to improve service delivery
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and strategies to enhance patient satisfaction and outcomes; promote accurate EPIC documentation
Requirements
- Active RN licensure in the state of practice (California)
- BLS or higher-level CPR certification as required by policy; AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS preferred or required as applicable
- AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS required
- AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS required
- Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) required
- NRP, ALCS, BLS, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring training within the last 2 years
- Minimum 5 years of recent nursing experience
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory/charge nurse experience
- EPIC electronic health record experience
- BSN required; MSN preferred
- Ability to work night shift in a fast-paced acute care environment
- No-call requirement for this assignment
