Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care in the outpatient department, collaborating with providers and clinic staff to ensure high-quality patient care and efficient use of resources
- Lead and coordinate clinic operations to support front desk workflows and patient flow, ensuring timely access to care
- Maintain medication inventory and supplies not tracked by the Warehouse PAR system; perform necessary supply management and reporting
- Conduct quality control checks for Point of Care tests and document all care and services in the patient record
- Open and close provider clinics as assigned; assist providers and staff to anticipate needs and maintain smooth clinic operations
- Communicate effectively with other departments to support patient care, and participate in staff meetings and ongoing education
- Adhere to infection control policies, safety standards, and mandatory training; contribute to a clean, safe working environment
- Provide patient and family education, document assessments, and perform nursing duties in a timely and professional manner
Requirements
- Current, full, unrestricted RN license in Alaska or another U.S. state; active Alaska license required at time of submittal
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience: At least 1 year of any emergency care experience (ER, urgent care, or flight nursing)
- Urgent Care experience must be within the last 2 years
- Knowledge of nursing process, patient assessment, documentation, and infection control principles
- Skills: Effective oral and written communication; ability to multi-task; strong team collaboration; problem-solving and critical thinking
- Physical demands: Regularly able to talk and hear; stand, walk, sit; lift and/or move up to 50 lbs; ability to perform required clinical duties in a fast-paced setting
- Must work in an outpatient/ambulatory care environment and support clinic operations
