    Overview
    Registered Nurse - ER travel assignment in Burlington, VT. Start September 7, 2026 for a 16-week contract. Earn $2,560–$2,693 per week on a 3x12-hour rotating shift schedule (days and nights). Work in a hospital emergency department setting and support a dynamic, high-acuity patient population. The role requires flexibility with a rotating day/night schedule and a minimum every-other-weekend commitment.

    Responsibilities
    - Deliver bedside emergency nursing care to patients presenting to the ED, including rapid assessment, triage, and continuous monitoring of evolving conditions.
    - Administer medications and IV therapies, support airway management, and provide ongoing clinical interventions within scope and facility protocols.
    - Document care and patient status accurately in the EPIC electronic medical record; perform clear, timely handoffs at shift change.
    - Collaborate with physicians, ancillary staff, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate diagnostics, procedures, and treatment plans; escalate deteriorating patients promptly.
    - Ensure patient safety and infection control practices, uphold standard precautions, and participate in quality and performance improvement initiatives as assigned.
    - Maintain certifications and unit competencies (AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC) and adhere to ED protocols and local/trauma guidelines.

    Requirements
    - Active Registered Nurse license in Vermont (or eligibility to practice as a traveling RN per state requirements); ability to obtain licensure as needed.
    - Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC required; TNCC must be in packet prior to start; NIHSS required prior to start.
    - Experience: Minimum 2 years of ER experience; prior travel experience preferred; large, teaching facility experience is valued; EPIC experience within the past 2 years is required.
    - Education: Completion of an accredited registered nursing program; current standing to practice as an RN.
    - Additional: Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity ED with rotating Day/Night shifts; reliable transportation as needed for shift coverage and commutes.
