Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the ER for adults and pediatrics, following nursing standards and department protocols.
- Conduct initial assessments, triage, ongoing monitoring, and timely escalation of patient condition; administer medications and manage IV access; support stroke care as indicated by NIHSS requirements.
- Document care accurately in Epic EMR; communicate with ED physicians, care teams, patients, and families; provide patient and family education as appropriate.
- Respond to emergencies and participate in rapid response/code protocols; ensure safety, comfort, and appropriate discharge planning.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams; adhere to unit guidelines; accommodate schedule needs (minimum every other weekend) while avoiding block scheduling and honoring holiday requirements.

Requirements
- Current New York RN license or proof of application with applied date; NY licensing may take 6–8 weeks; start date/offers will consider this timeline.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC (equivalency), TNCC required; TNCC must be active or proof of class prior to start; NIHSS required prior to starting; Epic experience within the past 2 years is required and nonnegotiable.
- Minimum 1 year of ER specialty experience.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced ER environment; available for a 3x12 night shift schedule; no block scheduling.
- Willingness to work every other weekend and to meet unit and patient-care needs; holiday requirements apply, with no required on-call.
