OverviewRegistered Nurse - HospiceSonora, CaliforniaStart date: 09/21/2026Duration: 13 weeksWeekly pay: $2,608 – $2,798 per weekGuaranteed hours: 36Shift: 5x8 DaysSetting: Short-term acute care hospital environment with a hospice program; travel - temporary assignmentKey Highlights- Weekly pay: $2,608 – $2,798 per week- Guaranteed hours: 36 per week- Contract duration: 13 weeks- Shift: 5x8 Days- Start date: 09/21/2026- Setting: Short-term acute care hospital-based hospice program- Mileage reimbursement provided in addition to standard payResponsibilities- Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of patients’ physical, emotional, psychosocial, and spiritual needs; develop and update individualized care plans with the interdisciplinary team- Deliver skilled nursing care, including medication management, pain and symptom control, wound care, and patient/family education on disease process and hospice philosophy- Provide emotional support and crisis intervention to patients and families as needed- Serve as the primary case manager for an assigned caseload (typically 12–18 patients), ensuring continuity of care- Communicate regularly with physicians, social workers, chaplains, hospice aides, and other team members; participate in interdisciplinary team meetings- Document accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) in compliance with regulatory requirements; ensure compliance with Medicare/Medicaid and state/federal hospice regulations- Participate in the on-call rotation and respond promptly to after-hours patient needsRequirements- Nursing license: Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (California) – Required- Certifications: Current CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor – Required- Driver’s license and auto insurance: Valid driver’s license, at least 21 years old, current automobile insurance – Required- Experience: At least two years of recent nursing experience in the field; hospice experience required for travel assignment- Education: BSN preferred- Ability to work in a hospital-based hospice setting and to coordinate care across disciplinesBenefits and Support- Guaranteed hours on assignment- Mileage reimbursement for travel- Dedicated travel support and ongoing recruiter assistance- Credentialing and onboarding assistance- On-call and after-hours support provided as part of the programFind more opportunitiesIf you’d like to explore other openings available from Healthforce Healthcare LLC, please visit https://healthforce.applytojob.com/applyPAY DISCLAIMER RULEPlease note: Pay rates and guaranteed hours are estimates and may vary.
