Responsibilities
- Provide RN supervision and charge nurse oversight across all five units during off-shift periods; mentor and coach staff
- Maintain patient safety and care plan adherence; de-escalation and management of assaultive behavior; handle code management as needed
- Starting/maintaining IVs; PICC care/management; wound care; tube feeds; catheter and ostomy care; nephrostomy care
- Enforce infection control, isolation procedures, emergency preparedness, and regulatory compliance (DPH, TJC, OSHA); accurate incident/sentinel event reporting
- Oversee staffing and productivity; coordinate with interdisciplinary teams; ensure compliant documentation in EPIC; death-of-patient documentation per policy and HIPAA requirements
Requirements
- Active New York RN license in hand to submit
- BLS certification required
- EPIC charting experience is a hard requirement
- Previous charge experience required; posting lists 2 years, some notes reference 1 year—confirm with account manager
- Ability to work in a geriatric population with dementia/Alzheimer’s, diabetes, CVA, cardiac, orthopedic, rehab needs; willing to float across five units
- Local candidates not accepted; must live more than 75 miles from the facility
