Registered Nurse – Infusion in Utica, New York. This 13-week travel assignment starts August 31, 2026, with 40 guaranteed hours per week on 8-hour day shifts (8x5) in an outpatient infusion unit within a hospital setting. Responsibilities
- Administer outpatient infusion therapies, including chemotherapy, to adult and geriatric patients in the infusion unit.
- Monitor patients during infusions, assess for adverse reactions, and respond per protocol.
- Administer blood products as required and per unit policy; manage potential infusion-related events.
- Document accurately in the Epic electronic medical record; operate infusion pumps (Alaris) and elastomeric systems; utilize Omnicell and Ascom for communication and medication administration.
- Maintain chemo-safety practices, verify patient identity, correct drug, dose, route, and site; ensure proper PPE and adherence to safety standards.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and provide patient and caregiver education on therapies, potential side effects, and post-infusion care.
- Maintain readiness to work in a fast-paced environment and may float to other units as needed to meet staffing and patient care needs.
Requirements
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and Chemotherapy (chemo certified)
- Experience: Minimum one year in outpatient infusion
- Technology: Proficiency with EPIC, Omnicell, Ascom, and glucometer equipment
- Equipment: Experience with Alaris pumps and elastomeric pumps
- Patient population: Comfort caring for adult and geriatric patients in an infusion setting
- Locality: Must reside within a 75-mile radius of Utica, NY; locals eligible for local rate
