Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for obstetric patients across antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods, plus GYN and newborn care.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, administer medications within scope, assist with labor and delivery, and support cesarean or operative deliveries as needed.
- Collaborate with the obstetric team, anesthesia, NICU/pediatrics, and support staff; ensure accurate documentation and care planning in the EMR (EPIC/Stork).
- Maintain patient safety and comfort through continuous assessment, monitoring, and timely response to clinical changes; perform postpartum discharge planning and family education.
- Unit specifics awareness: manage care in a unit with 18 beds (including 3 triage beds, 2 antepartum beds, 2 ORs for C-sections, 3 recovery beds, and 8 L&D beds) and participate in appropriate patient transfers and handoffs.
Requirements
- Active registered nurse license in New York and Nursys verification; must hold ALL RN licenses (RTO to be included at submission)
- 4–5 years of L&D experience; travel experience required
- Current AHA ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications
- EMR experience required (EPIC/Stork)
- Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts with day and night coverage; floating to other units as needed
- Documentation of travel experience and an up-to-date resume reflecting L&D experience
