Start Date: August 17, 2026
⏳ Contract: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 12-Hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 36 Hours/Week Guaranteed
Join Fairview Hospital's Family Birthplace as a Travel Labor & Delivery RN, providing compassionate, patient-centered care to mothers and newborns throughout the labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum process. You'll collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesiologists, pediatric providers, and lactation consultants to ensure safe, high-quality maternal and neonatal care.
Roles & Responsibilities
Assess, monitor, and care for patients throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and the immediate postpartum period.
Perform maternal and fetal assessments, including continuous fetal heart rate monitoring.
Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and pain management therapies as ordered.
Assist physicians and midwives during vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections.
Provide immediate newborn care, stabilization, and family education.
Recognize and respond promptly to obstetric and neonatal emergencies.
Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
Accurately document patient care and communicate changes in patient condition with the interdisciplinary team.
Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, pediatric providers, and lactation consultants to develop individualized care plans.
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and evidence-based nursing practices.
Requirements
Active Massachusetts RN License (must be in hand at submission)
Recent Labor & Delivery experience
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced L&D unit
Every other weekend and holiday coverage as needed
On-call required (TBD)
Travelers must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
