Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care in a Med Surg Telemetry unit, including ongoing assessment, monitoring of vital signs, and timely escalation of changes in condition
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and angio-therapy per policy and physician orders
- Monitor telemetry and respond promptly to arrhythmias or deviations in patient status
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other disciplines to develop and revise care plans; participate in discharge planning and patient education
- Document assessments, treatments, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record (Epic)
- Support patient and family education about diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and post-discharge care
Requirements
- Active Massachusetts RN license
- 2+ years of Med Surg Tele experience
- Epic experience required
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association)
- Ability to perform 12-hour rotating shifts (days/nights) and every other weekend and holiday
- No float requirement
