Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to medical-surgical telemetry patients, including continuous telemetry monitoring, vital signs assessment, and medication administration.
- Identify and respond to changes in patient condition; interpret telemetry strips and intervene for dysrhythmias when needed.
- Administer prescribed therapies, manage IVs, perform wound care, and assist with mobility and activities of daily living.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, case managers, and other members of the health care team to develop and execute care plans and discharge planning.
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the electronic medical record; maintain compliance with policies and patient privacy standards.
- Float to similar MS Telemetry floors and overflow areas as required to support unit staffing and patient needs.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license (state as applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg Telemetry experience
- Ability to pass Telemetry Competency Exam
- Current AHABLS Certification; ACLS and BLS required
- Must pass onboarding ECG/Telemetry and medications tests during onboarding (one attempt; passing score 85%; tests administered via Zoom; preparation using client-provided study guide)
- Willingness to float to like units and overflow areas; ability to work 12-hour night shifts, weekends and holidays as needed
- Orientation is biweekly
