Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for obstetric and gynecologic patients according to established standards and the nursing process.
- Monitor patient conditions, perform routine assessments, document findings, and respond to changes in status.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications, and monitor for therapeutic effects and adverse reactions.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with other disciplines to ensure seamless patient flow.
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, discharge planning, and post-discharge self-care.
- Maintain patient safety, infection control, and quality of care in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license (California) or eligible for licensure by endorsement
- OB/GYN nursing experience or strong obstetric/gynecology clinical skills; ability to work 12-hour night shifts
- Ability to work effectively in a hospital setting with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Willingness to participate in a 13-week travel assignment and relocate as needed
